Honors

Senior student Chui Cheng-Yuan (advisor: Prof. Yung-Te Hou) from our department has received the NSTC 2024 Undergraduate Research Creative Award.

NSTC 2024 Undergraduate Research Creative Award

The National Science and Technology Council (hereinafter referred to as NSTC) aims to cultivate and reserve outstanding research talents in basic sciences, applied sciences, and humanities and social sciences at an early stage. It encourages students from public and private universities to undertake research projects, allowing them to receive research training early, experience research activities, learn research methodologies, and enhance their experimental and practical skills by subsidizing undergraduate students to apply for research projects. Students who implement subsidized research projects must submit a research achievement report after the annual implementation period ends. Upon review by the NSTC, those whose reports are evaluated as excellent and creative will be awarded the Research Creative Award by the Council.

In the 2024 academic year, NSTC subsidized a total of 4,425 undergraduate research projects. Recently, the list of recipients for the 2024 Research Creative Award was announced, with only 200 individuals receiving the award. This year, a total of 25 students from National Taiwan University won the award, demonstrating highly fruitful research achievements. Congratulations to Mr. Chui for receiving the award.
